Disney and Universal collectively hold 71.3% of the Top 25 attendance — a level of concentration rarely seen outside utility monopolies. 10 of the top 25 parks are Disney properties; no other operator comes close in both park count and total throughput.
This concentration is structurally defensible: both operators possess IP libraries that have taken decades to build, making competitive entry prohibitively costly. A new entrant would need not just capital, but cultural relevance at a civilizational scale.
